Melipona & Logo Meaning
Melipona beecheii is a stingless bee that makes fermented honey native to Central America from the Yucatán Peninsula in the north to Costa Rica in the south. Melipona beecheii was cultivated in the Yucatán Peninsula by the Maya civilization. I chose this name in reverence to the bee & the connection to my maternal ancestral lineage (Central American & Yucatan Regions). The bee is a symbol of service to others that is collaborative with the hive. This is what Melipona Massage & Wellness values. Patience for the honey to be made, which is an ode to how I practice with slowness & steadiness. The Yarrow is an herb for protection over healing practitioners & empaths. An herb that holds the strength and medicine of boundaries. May these talismans and symbols be apart of the foundation of Melipona. Thank you for being here.

I've been a client since August and I can wholeheartedly recommended Kassandra and Melipona Massage & Wellness. Kassandra is a gifted massage therapist. She listens and she's intuitive. We started with neuromuscular massage due to problems I was having in my neck & shoulder and within a few sessions I had no pain! Her studio is cozy and comfortable and her hours of availability are flexible, so it's easy to schedule. Finding the right massage therapist is important - I'm really glad I found Kassandra.

I've never had a massage before, so I wasn't sure what to expect. She asked thorough questions about where it hurt and for how long. She was extremely comfortable to be around and made sure I was modestly covered for the entire session. My lower back and hips feel much better and my neck and shoulders are way more relaxed than I can remember in a long time. I made sure to schedule upcoming appointments with Kassandra because I can see this really helping me physically, in the long run. Also, I should add that I am a large gal so I can't lay on my stomach. Kassandra was able to find ways to keep me comfortable and still get her job done. Being overweight in a situation such as this, you feel very vulnerable. Kassandra handled it like a champ and never once, did I feel judged. She's awesome!
