Melipona Massage & Wellness LLC is a Wellness Studio devoted to Traditional Latinx/Salvadoran Healing, Bodywork, Energy Work, Herbalism & Community Wellness. Kassandra Ghuloum-Plambeck is the Owner, an NMT, Mixed Latinx Healing Practitioner focusing on Ancestral Healing, Empowerment & Embodiment with every session. 

At Melipona, we offer spiritual healing tools, herbal remedies, wellness supplies, adornments & more. Our space is for 1:1 sessions with healing practitioners & healing classes & circles that communal groups & gatherings. We offer Medicine Making Days with Heartkeepers Collective, a piece of Melipona that is made by community for community offering free herbal remedies, a free clinic & a healing garden. 

We are looking for 1 wellness practitioner who is aligned with our values and mission to offer sessions on Fridays at Melipona with the potential to have more than 1 day if it is the right fit.

An independent contractor is a self-employed individual who offers services to clients or businesses under a contractual agreement. Independent contractors run their own business and operate within the scope of another organization. This offers flexibility to set your own schedule, select your clients, and determine which services to offer within the terms of your contract. Independent contractors are legally responsible for their own taxes, insurances and business expenses. Independent contractors provide flexibility and autonomy. As a contractor you have the ability to set your own schedule. This flexibility allows for choosing your clients and services and enabling you to specialize in the types of massage you are passionate about. You have the freedom to set and adjust your rates. Independent contractors handle their own marketing, accounting and administrative tasks.

Length of engagement: 1 year with opportunity to renew yearly. 

Trial Period - 3 months in space

Space & Studio Policies

  • Provide your own tools: oils, creams, linens, etc. Massage table is provided. 

  • Invoice for services. 70/30 split. 

  • Build your own brand. 

  • Pack up all items and leave the shared studio areas clean after each use.

  • You are financially responsible for breaking or harming studio equipment.

  • General times you can work: Fridays only, work hours anytime.

  • Please lock all doors when leaving. The main glass door is always locked and clients come in through a buzzer. The second door to enter the hallway floor is always locked, please do not touch the lock. The door to 203 needs to be locked.

  • Door Buzzer: Code is 203, clients type 203 then press green button. This will ring the buzzer & you can let them in with the left button. 

  • Please be respectful and professional with other workers and clients in the shared space.

  • You choose your offerings, rates. 

  • You manage your own taxes, expenses, marketing and scheduling.

  • Provide liability insurance policy & business license before using the studio.

  • Utilize your own creative process, tools, and techniques for your work.

  • You can accept or reject projects as long as you have your own working pace. 

  • Must have valid certification of school.

  • You operate under your own business name or as a registered independent entity.

  • You utilize your own scheduling system.

  • Sanitize the room after every client by wiping down handles, surfaces & table.

  • Set your own fees.

  • Use your own processing fee service.

  • Pay every two weeks.
